Another accolade for Adelaide Shores was won last week at the Parks and Leisure Australia Awards of Excellence.
The Adelaide Shores Football Centre took out the top prize for Best Leisure Facility ahead of a terrific group of nominees from SA & NT; putting us up for the national award, to be announced in August.
The Adelaide Shores Football Centre was developed as a joint project between FFSA & Adelaide Shores. As well as financial and in-kind support from both these organisations grant funding was received from both state and federal governments. The centre opened in January 2014 and has set a new benchmark for football facilities in South Australia with a high quality synthetic pitch and very cost effective and efficient support facilities. Being located adjacent to several grass football pitches and within the 135Ha Adelaide Shores tourism and recreation precinct provides the facility with a unique opportunity to host a range of activities from local junior games to state and national carnivals.
The centre has already hosted national women’s league games, training for members of the Australian Lacrosse team and used on almost every weeknight and weekend for training and matches by local teams.
Adelaide Shores Football Centre is holding a seminar on synthetic sports surfaces in May, attracting international experts from FIFA, International Rugby Board and Limonta. For more information on the seminar please click here
